The book is set in 10th century Ireland and tells the story of the love between Mara, the daughter of an Irish king, and Dægan, a Viking trader. The music endeavours to capture the essence of some of the scenes and characters from the story. Written, arranged and orchestrated by Mícheál Ó Caoinleain, the music ranges from traditional Irish Airs and Nordic Chant, through to original compositions. |
